This has been my third year in the SALT program and i have really enjoyed it each year. The program is designed to encourage students to grow not only in their own spiritual journey but also teaches the students how to be an effective leader. Before i started the program i honestly did not believe i had what it took to be a leader, i thought in order to lead the person should obtain a outgoing personality which does not really describe my personality but i learned quickly there are many other ways to lead without always being in the spotlight. This program has really made a huge difference in the person i am today. It has really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and take some chances i normally would not. SALT has also encouraged me to deepen and strive for that relationship with God that i have always wanted and desperately need. I have also really enjoyed the mentoring part of the program. Each year i have been in SALT i have had a new mentor which doesn’t always happen but i have really enjoyed it and have learned a great deal from each woman. I have learned so much from the SALT program and i highly recommend it to anyone who has even a little bit of interest.
