The program is designed to encourage students to grow not only in their own spiritual journey but also teaches the students how to be an effective leader. Before i started the program i honestly did not believe i had what it took to be a leader, i thought in order to lead the person should obtain a outgoing personality which does not really describe my personality but i learned quickly there are many other ways to lead without always being in the spotlight. This program has really made a huge difference in the person i am today. It has really pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and take some chances i normally would not. SALT has also encouraged me to deepen and strive for that relationship with God that i have always wanted and desperately need. I have also really enjoyed the mentoring part of the program. Each year i have been in SALT i have had a new mentor which doesn’t always happen but i have really enjoyed it and have learned a great deal from each woman. I have learned so much from the SALT program and i highly recommend it to anyone who has even a little bit of interest.
